How to Use .tel to Get a Girl’s Attention

We’ve seen a few interesting virals surface as of late, but this one takes a stab at giving out the kind of most sought after- dating advice.

telniclogo1London-based web registry operator Telnic has decided that .com is so passé and so have gone out to create .tel, where you can store all types of contact information without needing to build a website or pay for monthly hosting.

How does this help you in the dating scene? Well no more do you have to rattle off the 11 digits that constitutes your mobile number to your good looking pick-up on the train. Chances are she doesn’t have a pen to write it down with and there’s no way this almost random series of numbers will be remembered otherwise.

With a .tel account, you can simply give all your contact details including number, email, skype and facebook details to anyone by giving your much more memorable www.sam.tel address.

This is also quite handy for businesses, as you won’t need to worry about people losing your business card amongst the other hundreds in their roladex.

Using the DNS as a data store is an interesting concept and has the benefit of being updated in real time. Because no websites need to be created, publishing information is a lot quicker and the data is delivered as live information instead web page content and is formatted appropriately for whichever device you’re using to access the .tel domain.

Don’t take our word for this new domain though, check it out in action below, and for more information, take a look at the Telnic site.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
