Asus Eee PC Keyboard: No Monitor Required
In the interest of minimalism, Asus have created quite a stir with their lastest Eee PC Keyboard that comes complete with its own 5 inch touch screen.
Of course for a keyboard to have its own screen, it will need a few other things in the background for it to actually show you what you’ve typed.
In order for you to not have to crank your neck up to look at a monitor at your excel spreadsheet detailing monthly expenditure, the Asus Eee PC Keyboard comes complete with 1.6 GHz Atom Processor, 1GB of RAM, and either 16 or 32 GB SSD for internal storage.
There are also USB, VGA and HDMI ports to hook up the keyboard to a monitor or TV so you’re not restricted to watching Fast and Furious on something the size of a beer coaster.
In short, this is a PC, screen and keyboard all in a keyboard.
Asus are looking to launch the keyboard in Q2 this year, which means it may hit the shops as early as May.
There will be both a wireless version and a cabled version released.
Price-wise the wired keyboard is thought to be priced around the £270 ($400USD) and the wireless version between £270 – £410 ($400 – $600USD).
According to Register Hardware, Asus CEO Jerry Shin has confirmed that the company is also looking to improve its Eee notebooks with OLED screens, which will make watching movies on your laptop an exciting experience for a change.

I would like to own one of these I have an affliction that will not allow me to sit at my computer for long. Maybe I could hook up a wireless dongle to it an work from my recliner, or the kitchen counter and use the 42 inch TV as a monitor.
