Green Technology Attracts Higher Funding
If you fancy yourself a bit of an entrepreneur but lack the cash to get your ideas off the ground, then maybe it’s time to go green as that’s where investors are looking to part with their millions.

According to the Cleantech Group, green technology venture capital funding soared by almost 38 per cent last year to £5.7 billion.
Despite the weather here, solar technology attracted the most investments, capturing 40 per cent of global green technology investments. In particular, thin-film solar deals did particularly well.
The biofuel sector including companies harnessing ethanol, biodiesel, synthetic biology, and algae attracted 11 per cent of green technology venture investments in 2008, while transportation companies, including makers of electric vehicles, advanced batteries, and fuel cells, accounted for 9.5 per cent.
Good news for the environment, and for anyone handy with a solar panel.
