Apple have just launched the long awaited and talked about mobile phone handset, the iPhone, but the question on everyone’s lips is whether it will be able to replicate its success of the music big brother the iPod?
Well, Steve Jobs, Apple Chairman seems to think so and said that the gadget would combine a widescreen iPod with touch controls, a “revolutionary mobile phone” and “a breakthrough internet communications device”.
So what does this revolutionary Apple have that will change everything? Well, just to name a few features it will include a 3.5 inch colour touch-screen, a 2 megapixel digital camera and a motion sensor so you can turn it on its side cool but thats not all! The phone is claimed by Apple not only to be the most advanced phone ever made but also the most advanced phone. The phone would “leapfrog” current internet-enabled smartphones with seemless internet connectivity. The device, 11.6 millimetres thick, does not have a keyboard, but uses a new touch-screen technology dubbed “Multitouch”. Have a look at the video below:
At the moment the US mobile network, Cingular has exclusive service rights on the iPhone, which will cost $499 (£257) on contract for a 4GB model and will hit the US in June. Europe dates are yet to be confirmed but according to Forbes it will be released in a years time as they intend to have 3G inbuilt. I’ll keep you posted, because if your an ‘Apple Tart’ then this is one gadget that you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
