With consumers already confused about the vast array of handsets to choose from, it looks as though they will be even more spoilt for choice with the announcement by LG that they will be releasing 125 mobile phones next year. However more importantly, in the UK we will be getting around 25 of these phones as the LG spokesperson explains, “We have to work with different operators in different countries, we don’t think it’s a big number.”
Even still, I am a little dubious to these claims. Although I am pleased that we will be getting a larger selection of LG handsets to choose from, I don’t think all the mobile phones they are proposing to release will fit into the criteria of smartphone capabilities that we are all crying out for at the moment, instead I think these phones will be aimed at different target markets.
