Google May Launch Chrome OS Netbook

After much speculation, it looks like Chrome OS is now all set to be released. Google is holding a Chrome event this Tuesday,December the 7th and has sent out the invites. Rumors are abound that the internet search behemoth may launch a self branded net book, equipped with Chrome operating system. There is yet another possibility of Google unveiling its Chrome App Store, which makes sense since recently Google has updated its browser with a new version. Chrome 8 has built in support for Chrome App Store.

The netbook is likely to sport Atom processor. However, Chrome netbook is not expected to be marketed to masses. Apparently, the netbook will only have a limited run of 65,000 and would be available for Google’s close cronies. Now, that’s something we are not happy about. Chrome operating system, which is a cloud-based operating system, is also thought to be in the beta mode and hence not very user-friendly in its current state. Anyhow, let’s put a stop to the speculations and wait for Tuesday’ event. Keep watching this space as we bring you more updates.
