Sony Ericsson has without a doubt released some decent smartphones for Google’s Android, but have built up the unfortunate reputation of not delivering when it comes to updates of the operating system. There is hope yet for Sony Ericsson however, with the coming release of the Anzu (aka Xperia X12) which seems to be coming pre-loaded with the upcoming version of Android, Version 2.3 Gingerbread.
Some pictures of the upcoming device from Sony Ericsson have been leaked on the unofficial Xperia X10 blog which revealed a large 4.3-inch screened, super slim device. As well as this, there is supposedly an HDMI output, as well as 1080p video recording.
The device which was leaked apparently had version 2.1 of Android loaded on it, but word is that with it’s release early next year it will be packing the upcoming Gingerbread. As well as this, it is expected that the device is to be announced alongside the PSP Phone this December to reveal New Year on sale dates.
Aside from these two big announcements there is also the expectation of the X10 Mini and Mini Pro to be refreshed with Gingerbread ready to go. It is also rumoured that the Vivaz and Vivaz Pro will be recieving new models in early 2011 which will have the newest Google operating system. This is looking more than a promising start from Sony for the year to come.
