iOS 4.0.1 Coming Soon to Fix iPhone 4 Reception Problems?

Since the famous iPhone 4 was launched last week, some iPhone 4 users have been experiencing reception problems whilst using their new phone. We did a post last week explaining how this could be sorted by holding the iPhone 4 in a different way.

However, it would appear that recent news has come in to suggest that the reception issues are not down to hardware problems but could be because of issues in the iOS 4. Consequently it has been rumoured that a software update could be released this week to fix the problem, especially as Steve Jobs has emailed recently saying, ‘There is no reception issue. Stay tuned’.

This could potentially mean that we could see an iOS 4.0.1 software update in the next couple of days, so until then we’ll keep you informed…

  • Hi, I have dropped several calls since using my I phone 4g. I have noticed when I grip the bottom left corner of my iphone it seems to loose reception very quickly. I also seem to be having a problem with slow speeds on the 3 g network. The phone itself is fantastic, so I hope Apple resolve this issue in the next couple of days.

  • Hi, as per everybody else, i am having same signal problems… unless i fit one of te hard phone covers.
my main issue is the speed of the 3 G network, it’s even slower than my old 3g iphone which i have now retired to get this “new improved all singing all dancing 4g”
I think all in all, that this is a slap in the face with a wet kipper for steve jobs & he needs to get something sorted… & quick.

  • I hope it will fix my appalling battery problems on my iPod Touch… Unless I leave the device in “airplane” mode the battery goes flat in just a couple of hours. If 4.01 doesn’t fix this I will need to go back to 3.1.3.

Come on Apple, don’t drop the ball now!

  • Great post

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
