The idea was proposed five years ago and although people we sceptical about how a $100 laptop would be produced, it looks as though since then critics have been proven wrong with the $100 laptop due to go into mass production soon…October 2007 to be exact!
The exciting thing about this concept is that it will give children in third world countries a chance of an education.
Critics might complain that there are much more pressing issues such as sanitation and poverty to deal with, but this idea always brings me back to the Oxfam advert which goes along the lines of ‘Give a man fish and he�ll have food for the day’ teach a man to fish and he’ll have food for life�Need I say more to all you sceptics!
