Spotify Add Two New Services: Spotify Open and Spotify Unlimited

Spotify have revealed that they will be adding two new options to access the streaming service. The two new ways include Spotify Open and Spotify Unlimited.

Spotify Open will give you access to ad-supported tunes without an invite whereas Spotify Unlimited will offer a cheaper package for ad-free listening.

So what are the costs and what do they include?  The Spotify Unlimited service will give you access to the whole Spotify catalogue for £4.99 through your computer and to use their mobile streaming service you will need to pay £9.99 per month for Spotify Premium.

The Spotify Open service is for those of you that have not been invited to the Spotify ‘party’. This service will give you 20 hours a month of ad-supported listening per month. So what are you thinking will happen to the Free Package? Well, Spotify have advised that this free service will still be available as long as you can get an invite.

What do you think of Spotify’s introduction to the new service? Do you think this is their way of slowing phasing out the free service? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
