Nintendo has announced that it will be launching a new version of its Nintendo DS games console with 3D capabilities, named the Nintendo 3DS.
More confirmed details are set to come at E3, LA in June with rumours that it could be released just in time for Christmas 2011.
And just when you thought you would have to wear those super geeky glasses when using the Nintendo 3DS, you can think again, because it has been revealed that the rumoured portable games console will allow you to see 3D using only the naked eye.
With stats from Flurry Analytics showing that Apple is taking a share of the portable gaming market, it would appear this annoucement from Nintendo in Japan about the Nintendo 3DS has come at an opportune time to show that the traditional gaming market is not going to give up without fight.

Knowing that Nintendo is already competing with other companies in terms of 3D, motion and graphics is an exciting news. Nintendo are among the 1st game developers but sad to say that they are behind in terms of graphics and motion.
Nintendo 3DS is really getting its hype today and I am looking forward to it. I do hope that it would really meet our expectations. As hand held consoles go, I’d still prefer the PSP. But with the new 3DS, I hope it will convince me to switch hand held consoles by then.
it was nintendo who started the motion sensor it goes to show how other companys that make consoles are trying to get in on this and its those same companys that thought having a power based console would over throw nintendo but it seems nintendo is too cunning and seems to be a step a head
i guess all were missing now is apple to bring out a console
just a question if nintendo never came to be i wonder would we have all these gaming companys today
