Find the cheapest LG Chocolate
LG kg800 Chocolate mobile phone

Overview
Known to ‘techies’ as the LG-KG800 but to others as the LG Chocolate, due to its luxurious and sleek design, it offers a range of colours, which include pink, black and white, and it is not surprising that LG have now introduced this autumn seasons ‘must have’ colour burgundy to its chocolate palette.

To name just a few features it comes 1.3 Megapixel Camera with Flash and 4 x Zoom, Video Record & Player, Music Player, Touch Pad Music Controls, Bluetooth Technology. It not hard to see why this skinny chocolate phone caused such an uproar last November in Korea, introducing itself as the first mobile to feature a touch keypad.

Review

It boasts a generally pretty standard set of features: a 2″, 256k colour display, 1.3 megapixel camera and 128MB memory. The pleasant surprises comes in the form of its smaller than expected dimensions (9.5 x 4.8 x 1.5cm) and particularly light weight (approximately 85g). The “hidden LCD” screen is referring to the red buttons on the front which aren’t buttons at all but in fact a touch-keypad section which lights up when you slide it open.

The looks you can pretty much judge yourselves from the pictures, but it is most distinctive for the very subtle and minimalist style – interesting touches like the universal power/USB/headphone socket shows off the effort made to give it that cool, elegant design. The digital audio support (MP3, WMA, AAC) and playback quality is surprisingly good.

The downsides is its internal memory seems a bit limited at 128MB and also the polished surface looks like it has the potential to scratch easily so it advisable to store it in the pouch they have provided. The only other problem is about the end call button on the side of the phone- its easy to accidently end a call in the middle of a conversation.

We say: We like this phone and LG has good reason to be confident that it will fly off the shelves. While it might not appeal to the ones who are expecting jam packed technical goodies, there is no argument that it’s aesthetically pleasing features will conquer all. Although LG have not stated its appeal to either the male or female market this phone is for anyone who wants to look ‘hot’ this Xmas.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
