Here’s a nifty device that will not only save the environment, but save you money too, by regulating the water you use ever time you smell bad.
The eaga ShowerSmart regulates the flow rate of a non-electric shower to 7.8 litres per minute – the equivalent of a powerful electric shower.
That by itself may not mean much, but for a 2-person home, this gadget will save more than 12,000 litres per year, cut carbon emissions by 1 tonne of CO2 over its lifetime and can save about £20 on gas and £20 on water bills per year.
Best of all, you don’t have to fork out any cash in advance and wait for the long-term payment, because the ShowerSmart is currently free when you apply through the Green Consumer Guide.
Who say the Government never gives you anything?
There is a limit of one per UK house hold on this scheme.
If you already have a water-saving shower, then the ShowerSmart may not make a difference. To find out if this is the case, you can receive a measuring bag which allows you to see if you would benefit from this device.
To test out your shower with the measuring bag you jut need to put your showerhead into the bag and quickly turn on the shower for 5 seconds. If the water level in the bag is above the measuring line, then your shower unit is not efficient and you will benefit from installing the unit. If the water level is below the line, then you have an efficient shower and the ShowerSmart won’t make any difference to your water consumption.
If you’re amongst the majority who could stand to save a bit of cash and the environment while you’re at it, take a look at the free ShowerSmart ofer.
