While everyone was predicting and pontificating about Apple releasing a Tablet this month (which they didn’t but they probably will in February) Microsoft have been secretly working on their own tablet. Called Courier it it is more than a tablet, it has two screens hinged in the middle and looks more like a traditional book or filofax (remember those) than a tablet.

One of the obvious advantages of netbooks are their size. They are very portable and can be used just as much on the move as well as at a desk. But to be used on the move you need a battery and a battery that only lasts an hour or so kinda of kills the idea of a netbook. Many netbooks have great battery life, but MSI have just launched the new MSI Wind U110 ECO with a reported battery life of 15+ hours!

Only a few days ago LG announced to the world that it will be using Microsoft’s recently launched Windows Mobile 6.5 in a minimum of 13 new smartphones over the next 16 months. But now in a surprise move they have announced a new smartphone, the LG-GW620, which will use Linux – the arch rival operating system of Microsoft.

The Internet has been awash this weekend with rumours about the next big version of iTunes from Apple. September is traditionally the month when Apple update their iPod range as they prepare for the Christmas season. Lenovo has quietly released the IdeaCentre C100 at the gdgt party in San Francisco. The IdeaCenter C100 is an all-in-one 20-inch unit with the potential for a touchscreen. The first version of this desktop machine will ship with Windows Vista, but the rumors are that when Windows 7 is released Lenovo will ship an updated version of the C100 with a specially optimized touch screen.
