Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software for FAT & NTFS

Author: Arutha | Files under Reviews, Web and Software

How many times have you accidentally deleted that file you needed the week after and kicked yourself when you realized what you did a week ago, or maybe you’ve committed the ultimate crime, accidentally deleted one of your partner’s favourite photos?

Well, it’s time to breathe a sign of relief as the Stellar Information Systems Ltd or Stellar for short has released a handy software package that will allow you to get back all those accidentally deleted items, plus some other items you thought you had deleted and thought you would ever see again.

But is it any good? There are a magnitude of Data Recovery programs out there all with their good and bad points, but how does this one size up, read on to find out.

The point in this type of software is that it’s meant to be quick and easy to recovery all those items you need without having to shift though you’re entire hard drive or have a degree in computer to understand. Well it seems that Stellar has spent their time at university to offer the average user a simple and helpful interface that from the moment you open it, tells you in plain simple text what to do.

The Stellar Welcome Screen

Its not only just ‘What To Do’ information that is displayed, but it also tells you how to recover your lost data successfully, for example one tip from it is, is it’s not advisable to recovery your lost data to the same place it was originally (i.e. a picture in My Pictures should not be recovered there).
Once you have selected which drive on your computer you wish to scan (in most cases the C: drive) it will then scan the entire memory for lost files, this can take a bit of time and I have seen other software packages of this type be much quicker but in the computing world the longer these types of things take, it is normally a much better way of going about it.
Once the scan is done you can then filter the results. It would be better if this was available from the start but now I have raised this issue it maybe implemented in the new version when it comes out sometime in the future.
Now this package does not come for free, its costs around 94 Euros to buy for a single user license and for those that want to try before they buy there is a demo available and I recommend you try this package out before you buy.
The site for the Demo can be found here, happy recovering…
