Review: LG Flatron W2486L LED Monitor
In this review, I will be looking at the LG W2486L. A wide screen LED monitor. The LED backlight is more energy efficient, and another advantage is that the monitor can be thinner than your bob-a-job TFT, a mere 2 CM give or take. So, does this monitor deserve a spot on your desk, or should it be left on the shelf, all thin, and unused, like an old Kate Moss?

Touchscreens to Push Sales?
Touchscreens, touchscreens, and more touchscreens. That seems to be what CES has been all about this year. As compelling, and useful as touchscreens are, it remains to be seen if they will be enough of a draw to make some of the devices on offer a success. Devices such as Sony’s Dash, a tablet shaped device with 7″ touchscreen, or IDC’s Vega, a 15″ touchscreen tablet device, are very capable, but will the form factor be a hit?

PC game delays getting on the collective tits
Last week I was frustrated and annoyed, and for once, it was not due to having to go to work, the wife, or even my pay packet. No, it was because I am a PC gamer. I don’t have a PS3, nor an Xbox 360. I have forgone these for an expensive graphics card and a Razer mouse. Sometimes I wish I had not though because If I had a PS3, I would now be playing Assassins Creed 2, the PC version of which has been pushed back until the first quarter of 2010.

In the days of the netbook, manufacturers have at last got a balance between portability, and functionality about right. Netbooks like the Asus Eee pc, and the Samsung NC 10 have been tempting us with their promise of long battery life, and a fully featured OS and application suite. The balance however is usually offset with the hardware, and to get that portability, you need less of it. Although we all knew it would happen, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Dell haven’t said much about how they will use Windows 7, I guess because it wasn’t offically out yet, but now that Windows 7 has been released OEMs are starting to move all their products over to the new version of Windows. Dell has announced that they now have 80 models of computer from the 10-inch Inspiron Mini 10 netbook to the ultra-powerful Dell Precision T7500 workstation that ship with Microsoft Windows 7 pre-installed.
