BagelPod: If slicing a bagel gives you RSI…

If you thought that owning an espresso machine, an electric knife and a stab mixer meant that your kitchen was mechanically equipped for anything, you’d be wrong.bagel

What you obviously need between your mini-counter grill and your lazy susan, is a device whose only function is to cut bagels. Seriously.

Available from America (of course) this Bagelpod will slice bagels, buns and rolls, so could actually also come in handy if you’ve got a number of BBQ burgers to prepare.

The creators also say that it will slice “fairly small bagels” so don’t say it’s not versatile.

The Bagelpod is equipped with two specially designed serrated blades, made of heat treated 420A stainless steel metal.

The design of this gadget means that it is entirely safe for kids to cut their own bagels/ rolls as the blades are kept in the device so can’t accidentally slice a finger as well as a poppy seed bun.

bagel2This kitchen extra comes in three colours: burgundy, red and white for the classic bagel-eater.

It is dishwasher-safe as well, which is definitely a unique feature for a mechanised kitchen gadget.

Priced at around £13.80 (US$19.95) it is an interesting gift idea for someone who likes their salmon and cream cheese.
