Well we do have some say in the way new gadgets and sites are presented to us- companies spend huge amounts on consumer research and surveys to try to find out what the public wants so they can give it to them. The ultimate call is still with the producing company though.

Facebook seem to have largely ignored what their market has been asking for, but you're right in saying that we all still continue to use it and in the end, we get used to the changes that they've stuck with.

I don't get why people complain so much.

Yes, it's irritating to deal with change, but, in the end, we learn to use all the new features within a week or two.

And why do we think we should get a say in it?

We don't decide how our phones work or how the news is read so why should this service be any different?

Any website should work under the simple way of a maximum of 3 clicks to get anything, otherwise its pointless. They are a bunch of artistic psychophants, saying oooh look at this now, all it does is drive people away to other social networking sites.
Rule 1 in customer service never P1SS off your customers or else they will leave.

I agree that the home page is way too status-heavy when Facebook offers all of these other applications that you don't get with Twitter. It makes no sense to copy a social networking site that has less functionality than yours!

Why did they change is again in the first place? I'd just got used to the old new facebook!

My biggest complaint is that I can't find how to write a new note without clicking through a thousand pages. And all I get a status updates these days so I miss the fun stuff.

Not good overall. I wish social networking sites would stop trying to be the same as each other. Myspace for fifteen year old wannabe musicians, twitter for networking and busy people, and Facebook for staying in touch with your friends. Simple!
