Review: Toshiba P300-16T - Middle Class Office PC

Author: Arutha | Files under PC

Overview

With the demands of the new Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System and Microsoft Office applications becoming increasingly higher, you might be thinking it’s about time to ask your boss for a new laptop.

As your old one is getting a bit long in the tooth and it’s thinking about getting itself a pipe and some slippers for those cold nights; the latest laptop offering from Toshiba might be just what you’re looking for.

Review

With a dual core processor and 2GB of RAM, this laptop will have no problems running all of those new office applications with ease and all you will have to worry about is getting your head around the new Office ‘ribbon’ design.

Also, all those storage worries will be a thing of the past with the generous 200GB hard drive space on offer with this laptop (just don’t tell the boss how many MP3s this can store). As well as this, it also comes with a DVD writer as standard so if you need something backing up you can use a 4GB DVD disc to store all those important files and folders (putting your paper wastage down - another hit for the boss) or create a nice snazzy DVD presentation to ‘WOW’ your colleagues.

However, if you’re looking for a laptop with supreme gaming capabilities then you won’t be able to find it on the P300-16T, unless of course you’re wanting low demanding games like Sudoku, pong or a nice card game for those long train journeys.

The Gaj-It Verdict

Design 10/10
Usability: 10/10
Features: 7/10
Value: 7/10

We Say

For the next generation of business laptops this is one to consider however for us gamers don’t even go there. Start writing those ‘recommendation’ letters to your boss…
