No Credit Crunch Insight for Amazon this Xmas
It would seem that the credit crunch has not pinched into the pockets of us gadget lovers this Xmas as Amazon announce that its 2008 ‘holiday season’ finished as its best ever, with over 6.3 million items ordered worldwide on the 15th of December (a peak day for any online shopping retailer).
Some of the products which were included in Amazon’s US top sellers included movies such as, “Wall-E” and “Dark Knights” and consumer electronic products such as the Samsung’s 52-inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, the Apple iPod touch 8GB and the Acer Aspire One 8.9-inch netbook in blue.
For gaming it would seem that the Nintendo Wii was the all round winner by saturating the video games as well the hardware/console market.
So, just when you thought it was all doom and gloom for all retailers in the current economic environment, it would certainly seem that Amazon is far from feeling the credit pinch…just yet that is!
