PAL-V: The Super Cool Flying Car! Up, up and away

Author: GadgetGirl | Files under Cars, Cool Gadgets, General, Shopping

Is it a car or is it plane? No, it’s actually both! So, what are we talking about? The PAL-V Flying Car. Dodging traffic could be a thing of the past with this little number, because on land the PAL-V is a three wheeled car (or to some a motorcycle), however open up its roof and back to find a foldable rotor, propeller and tail section, which lets you fly away and take off in seconds.

This baby only has room for one passenger so I’m afraid you’ll have to leave the loved ones at home to take a seat in this flying automobile. Offering up to 125 mph on land and then 120 mph in the air with no traffic to contend with, commuting could become a breeze in the park. It can reach as high as 4,000 feet in the air, so you can admire all those poor people who are sat there, impatiently waiting in their cars on the road whilst you take to the skies!

Now, last year our fellow gadget buddies at Coolest Gadget already spoke about this flying car, however a year on we thought we would keep you updated and news from an online Dutch newspaper has revealed that although they haven’t been built yet, Dutch police have plans to order the flying cars when the first vehicle rolls off the assembly line. Also, the brains behind the machine, Dutchman John Bakker, said that these flying cars should be ready in two years and expects to have them ready to buy on the market by 2012. So folks, you’ll need to start saving those pennies (or pounds) in your piggy banks as this looks like it could be a very expensive but super cool gadget for the future.
