Microsoft to offer FREE PC anti virus software

The word ‘FREE’ always catches my attention so when I heard that Microsoft will soon be offering a free PC anti virus software, with plans to discontinue their current Windows Live OneCare service I thought I would let you know all about it.

The new free anti virus software (proposed to be called Morro) will be available in the second half of 2009 and will protect against all those pesky viruses, spywares and other irritating bugs which harm our wonderful PCs.

However, as it is free it was no surprise when it was announced that it will be getting rid of some of features which were present in the OneCare software. Instead, it looks as though this will be aimed at the light weight and less powerful PCs so we’ll just have to wait until next year to see if their will be any ‘bugs’ which need ironing out with the Morro (oops – pardon the cheesy pun!).
