Tablets At Dawn: HP Accuses RIM of Copying WebOS

Tablets at dawn! HP has attacked RIM and their Blackberry PlayBook which it claims are using strikingly similar UI elements to their webOS.

HP elaborated by suggested that the Blackberry Playbook  multitasking has an  ”similarities” to one employed by the HP TouchPad.

HP told Laptop that it will “keep innovating and honing and [RIM] hopefully will continue to see the value in it and keep following us by about a year.”

RIM responding with company rep Jeff McDowell who said: “When you’re trying to optimise user experience that juggles multitasking, multiple apps open at once and on a small screen, you’re going to get people landing on similar kinds of designs.”

So there you have – it was nothing more than great minds thinking a like or was it ? We’ll keep tabs on this hissy-fit and let you know of any developments.
