The iPhone 4 was commended for it’s “great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers.”
As well as this HTC was selected as device manufacturer of the year because it was noted by the panel of judges that it “has built its market presence from nowhere, with fresh branding and marketing and a strong portfolio of devices across many platforms.”
“In particular, it has proven an exceptionally popular and enduring phone manufacturer,” they continued. “With great communication and good customer service, this is a well-deserved award” as well as it setting “the bar for Android phones across much of the world in 2010.”
The panel of judges were made up of mostly European journalists and analysts. It is believed that there was some heated debate to whether the iPhone 4 should have been crowned the best mobile device, however after a hours of discussion a decision was made. However, when it came to picking the device manufacturer, the votes were fairly unanimous vying for HTC.
