Apple might have dubbed Apple TV as its hobby, but given the sales figure for drastically revamped device, it seems like Cupertino company has yet another blockbuster on its hands. According to the reports, a number of Apple stores are now out of stock on Apple TV. A Wall Street Analyst has forecast that the gadget is expected to touch a million unit mark per quarter.
Appleinsider has quoted JMP Securities Analyst as calling the hobby “a hit”. He also claimed that Apple retail stores in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago and San Francisco are all sold out of the device. The analyst said, “Apple TV is off to an initial quarterly pace of at least one-quarter to one-third that of the iPad.”
Apple TV also seems to have limited stock in hand and although initial sales are, by no means, an indicator of the eventual performance of the device, but still it is expected that Apple TV will have a good run in the holiday season. The older version of the devices had sold less than a million units per year. The company is also likely to sell 17.5 million iPad and iPhone units in December quarter.
