CES 2008 News! Wayfinder GPS to be added to Sony Ericsson Walkman W760 Phone

If you manage to get your hands on Sony Ericsson’s new Walkman W760 phone in the near future, then it looks as though you’ll also be getting bundles of ‘road tripping’ fun as Sony Ericsson are teaming up with the GPS technology giants, Wayfinder Systems to offer GPS software into the W760. Showcasing at CES 2008, the Wayfinder Navigator will come pre-installed on the handset.

So what’s so ‘off the board’ about the Wayfinder Navigator? Well, unlike other satellite navigation technology from TeleAtlas and Navteq, the Wayfinder Navigator will allow your actual route to be downloaded over the air in ‘real time’.

The Wayfinder Navigator offers GPS mapping in more than 150 countries, turn-by-turn navigation in more than 50 countries in more than 20 languages, Power Search with selected local services and points of interest, current weather information, and access to the Mywayfinder.com web site.
