Sony release new firmware, but what does it do?

It seems that Sony’s latest Playstation 3 firmware update 2.43 has been released to the general public but what does it do? Nothing, unless you live in Japan according to latest reports.

European and US PS3 owners will not even be told it has been released unless you manually update your PS3 on a regular basic whereas in earlier version the updates have been mandatory.

As said before this update can be installed but it will not offer any new features or enhancements, but it has still not be found out what this update does for the Japanese console either, if anyone finds out let us know otherwise I will keep you posted to this bizarre new firmware.
