Sony have just announced that the “classic white” PS3 Slim for Japan, model CECH-2500 is expected to be released on the July 29th, which is this month. The 160GB HDD model will be going on sale for 34,980 yen which is around $400.
This certainly confirms what all the fuss was about when last month a list was presented by the FCC recently, which disclosed model numbers of new chipsets, which did include the model number CECH-2500.
There are no details on when this is likely to hit the rest of the world but we’ll keep you updated as and when more news comes through.
