With the Apple iPad sales figures increasing and the release of the iPad in UK and the rest of the international waters it would appear that Amazon are remaining as cool as a cucumber with no details of extra features to fight off the Apple iPad competition.

More recently, Amazon have said that they will not introduce a colour Kindle to the market in the immediate future to counter the iPad’s threat to its ebook business.

According to Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, adding colour to the Kindle’s “electronic ink” display is a difficult technical challenge but this doesn’t mean that they will rule out a colour version completely, it is just something they will look into in the future.

Whatever Amazon’s plans are for the future, it certainly shows that they won’t be threatened by the Apple iPad and their bite into the e-book marketplace.
