iPad UK Prices and Data Plans Announced by Vodafone

Pre-orders for the iPad in the UK have already started today so it was only a matter of time before the networks started announcing their data plans. Orange was the first one to reveal their UK iPad pricing last week and now it would appear that Vodafone today have announced that they will also be taking a slice of the Apple iPad pie.

So what does their pricing include? Well, for the lighter web user for£10 per month you will get 1GB of data, however if your a bit of heavy web surfer then the 5GB of data for £25 maybe more up your street. If you’re looking to pre-order and get yourself onto Vodafone’s 30 day rolling contract for the iPad as soon as possible then you will be need to purchase Vodafone’s microSIM which is available to buy today.  Prices are below…

iPad MicroSIM 5GB plan
30-day contract
5GB a month
£25 per month

iPad MicroSIM 1GB plan
30-day contract
1GB a month
£10 per month

Apple iPad SIM Only Plans
Available to pre-order – expected delivery 28th May 2010

Also, for those of you who are lucky enough to splash out on an iPad as well as still have some cash left to take a holiday abroad, you can pay £9.99 per day to get 50MB of data to use abroad.

However, compared to Orange’s Pay as You Go offer, Vodafone doesn’t offer this option, instead you will need to choose from the monthly contracts above. Also, there is no news of WiFi as part of the plan which when considering Orange will give you 10GB of data and 750MB of fair use WiFi around the country for £25, the 5GB from Vodafone doesn’t look very enticing. However, this does come as no surprise after Vodafone announced that it will be ending the ‘unlimited data’ tariffs networks shortly.

What do you think of Vodafone’s iPad data plans and pricing? Does it entice you to buy an iPad from Vodafone or will you got to a different provider? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…
