Apple Uses Google for Anti- Microsoft Windows 7 Ads
Apple has taken advantage of the Windows 7 hype by using Microsoft keywords to generate cheeky Google ads for Macs.
One sponsored ad appears only when “Windows 7” or “download Windows 7” is entered as a search query.
Google then displays the ad: “Upgrading to Windows 7? There’s never been a better time to switch to Mac. Find out why.”

Apple’s clever dig at its arch rival is only costing it around 5p per click on the search giant’s site, according to Google’s keyword tool. There does seem to be a cap in place on how many times the ad is displayed each day to rein in click-happy Microsoft fans.
This isn’t the first time Windows 7 has taken a hit from Apple. On the day the new OS was launched, Apple released three new ads having a dig at Microsoft’s latest product.
