Windows 7 Pre-Order sold out!

Windows 7 LogoYes folks you read the heading right, Microsoft have pulled the plug on its pre-order offer for its new operating system (OS) Windows 7 only after 1.5 days of being released to the general public.

This comes as no surprise to news addicts as they did the same thing in Japan, and with the Europe Microsoft servers going down within 2 hours of the offer being released it seems that us crafty Europeans wanted to get our hands on this offer before this happened to us to.

So for some of you the good news is that you have bagged yourself a copy of Microsoft’s new OS for a jaw dropping price, the bad news?

Well for those people who were not able to find the time to grab a copy, you are now forced to buy the product at a quite reasonable price of £79.99 for Home Premium and still the slightly odd £180-240 offer for Professional (don’t ask my why its just the Home version that’s gone up in price) your still making a saving which is a good thing, its just that your going to have to shell out £30 more than want your mate might have for the Home Premium.

These prices were retrieved from play.com at the time of writing this article so things might have changed by the time you are reading this, I shall keep you posted, or leave me a comment below.

The £99 price is incorrect for the UK; Windows 7 Professional will cost somewhere in the region of £180 – £240; depending on where you buy it.

You are indeed correct John; I shall edit the article accordingly. I did however put a little disclaimer at the bottom of my post saying the prices might change.

Looks like they have updated there prices accordingly.

Strange, the Microsoft website makes no reference of this and still refers you to resellers that are still selling the product at the £90 mark for Pro and £45 for Home

  4. That’s not as expensive as I thought it would be. I may have to upgrade
